WELCOME WEEK 2013

SATURDAY Aug. 17th: 2pm-4pm
 
Ice Cream Break 
Take a break from moving in and join us for ice cream and a cold drink. At the Jewish Studies Center (JSC) on the corner of Wentworth and Glebe St (96 Wentworth St)

MONDAY Aug. 19th: 6pm - 7:30pm  
Welcome Back Cookout
 
Join us for our annual Welcome Back Cookout!  We’ve got kosher burgers, hotdogs, veggie options, and plenty of cold soft drinks to go around.  This is a great chance to meet people and see familiar faces. At the Stern Center Gardens behind the Stern Center on the corner of George and Glebe St.  We will meet at CVS at 5:45 to walk over.

TUESDAY Aug. 20th   :4-5:00 pm   
First Year Students of Hillel (FYSH) - Java for Jews
Come talk about your first day of classes with other first year students (freshmen AND transfers) at Java 4 Jews at Starbucks on the corner of King St. & Beaufain (239 King St)

WEDNESDAY Aug. 21st : 6pm - 7pm
 
Meet-to-Eat
Join us for a free dinner & great conversation at our 1st weekly Meet-to-Eat in Arnold Hall (JSC)

FRIDAY August 22nd : 5:45pm
Shabbat Celebration
Come celebrate the first Shabbat of the school year. Services begin in the 2nd floor library (JSC) at 5:45pm followed by Shabbat dinner at 6:30pm in Arnold Hall (JSC)

SATURDAY Aug. 23th: 11am
FYSH - Farmer’s Market 
Join us at the local farmer’s market (King St and Calhoun) for entertainment, fresh food, and a great opportunity to see the locals/their pets as well as get to know each other (meet at JSC)


At JSU/Hillel we truly do have something for everyone. Our programming focuses on five areas: Social, Tzedek/Social Action, Student Engagement, Israel, and Religious/Cultural.
